Location

The famous Biltmore HotelCoral Gables, also know as the “City Beautiful” is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida.  With its lush landscape and beautiful year round weather it is one of the most desired vacation destinations and appealing places to live in the United States.

The city was developed by George Merrick in the 1920’s and has grown to be extremely affluent. The city’s architectural history is a mixture of old Spanish and Mediterranean design. Merrick designed the original Gables Commercial district to be easily assessable to all the residents.  An important component of the location of the Corinthian Plaza is its proximity to downtown Coral Gables.

The Gables is a pedestrian-friendly city. The Corinthian stays true to Merrick’s vision since it is within walking distance from parks, shopping centers and the City’s trolley system. The trolley originally started by Merrick and later reinstated by the City in 2003 allows the residents of the Gables to travel the city from one end to the other. 

Located only four miles from Miami International Airport, the Gables is a very popular tourist destination.  With its 140 dining establishments, gourmet shops, and many notable international retailers, Coral Gables is not only the City to visit but very desirable to live in. The city is well know for its restaurants, art galleries, unique shops and boutiques, and live theater performances.

Public education

Coral Gables schools are part of the Miami-Dade School District, which serves almost all of metropolitan Miami. The district has one high school in Coral Gables, Coral Gables High School, which educates students in grades nine through 12.
